Catering for a wedding can be a lot of fun. However it also can be a stressful and timely job. Our weddings come in all shapes and sizes, and what sort of food we serve always depends on who our couples are and what type of day they are after. Whatever your wedding theme is, you’re sure to want to leave a lasting impression on your guests with the right catering choices.
Make it look and taste great!
Creating a real feast for the eyes and a sensation to the mouth is the first step to making a good first impression. If your food looks good, everyone will want to eat it and when they do, it should taste even better than it looks. You are after that WOW factor. An event of guests that all want seconds (and thirds). There are plenty of ways to make your food look amazing, from creating a colourful spread to laying everything out on impressive plates, slates or wooden boards. Presentation is everything if you want your party food to look delicious, and it’s not just about the food itself. However this all wants to be backed up by amazing tasting food.
Make sure your food fits the day!
Does your Wedding have a theme such as rustic, festival, formal? Most weddings do but don’t even know it. You want your food to match your day. This also helps you start off the decision making process. If you’re having a rustic wedding, try sharers and platters and not a sit down formal meal.
Maybe you’re looking at a festival themed wedding, you could look at street food such as a pizzas, Mexican or even a hog roast with coconut shy and a live band playing. Your retro wedding could start with canapés of mini classics of prawn cocktails, vol au vents for example.
Sharing is always a winner!
We love doing weddings were guests have to share at the table. It make for a great atmosphere in the room. it gets everyone talking and laughing. Whether it is a hot main course, cold table buffet, pizzas, or a Picnic, sharing is excellent if you want an easy way to break the ice. It’s especially good if everyone is sitting around a table, chefs hat and apron for the table carver and the guests can share by passing things around or helping to serve each other. It is an amazing sight and will leave your guests with a lasting memory of your big day. Use all the senses to leave an impression on your guests.
